Description

The Hovercam Neo3 is the first document camera to offer the user the option to connect directly to a projector. The Neo3 has been given both a new look and greater flexibility with a flexible mechanical neck and a tilting base, giving you the ability to angle the camera where you need it. The advantage of the increased flexibility is truly appreciated when looking at detail rich 3D objects. The improved neck and base allows the user to locate the camera at odd angles for the highest quality image.

With the Neo3's increased flexibility, HoverCam also designed the camera to allow the user up to 3x zoom at any angle. With a computer, the Neo3 achieves over 13x digital zoom, giving you the ability to focus at up to 40x magnification with crystal clarity. The Neo3 is able to capture vibrant images and video by utilizing a HD 720p camera with a full 30 fps capture rate. To give the user extra control over image quality, the Neo3 is the first camera in the Hovercam line to offer the ability to manually focus the camera; important when taking crisp images.

Most are familiar with the HoverCam being a quality document camera, but a webcam? The Neo 3 can also be used as a webcam when in the closed position. The Neo3 is not just another document camera, but also a versatile webcam. Also, when the arm is extended and being used as a document camera, the second camera can unfold and be used to record the presenter or the audience. With two cameras the user can present and record picture in picture video, making the Neo3 ideal for distance learning. With the Neo3 the instructor can look in to the camera while presenting the document or item under the camera giving the student or the viewer an in person feel to an online presentation.

The Neo 3 is uniquely capable of outputting multiple resolutions through the USB cable, not just one, while at the same time outputting through the VGA connector. Because of this, there are times that the image may not sync. If the image is out of sync, this is easily solved by pressing the resolution control buttons on the Neo 3 product until the image syncs. See the illustration below, which is taken from the Neo 3 Quick Start Guide. This will provide the clearest image. If the customer would like a faster refresh rate, they can adjust the resolution downwards.

Because of this, there are times that the image may not sync. If the image is out of sync, this is easily solved by pressing the resolution control buttons on the Neo 3 product until the image syncs. See the illustration below, which is taken from the Neo 3 Quick Start Guide. The default, factory setting of Neo 3 is 1600 X 1200 (UXGA). This will provide the clearest image. If the customer would like a faster refresh rate, they can adjust the resolution downwards.

Does the Hovercam work with the Microsoft Surface Tablet?

Hovercam document cameras, doesn’t matter which model, will work with the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 tablet. This tablet runs Windows 8.1 so it can support the Hovercam software. The Surface and Surface 2 tablets are not compatible with the Hovercam software.
